--> Creation Masterclass - Sat 19th Nov- 3 - 6 pm
OPEN to ALL LEVELS Beginner to Advanced
Open to all DISCIPLINES!
LEARN new Creative Tools! Develop an act, polish an old show, develop new processes.
How to achieve the following, beyond your tricks :
--> Silks / Rope : Verticals on Sun 20th Nov - 11 - 2 pm
Catering to ALL LEVELS Beginner to Advanced
Starting with Aerial Component Mechanics, looking at our technique and the inner workings of the shoulders and hips. How to use mechanics in aerial more intelligently, so as to last longer and avoid injury.
Then exploring the movement sequences that evolve from these, into full aerial routines.
Pisco has a penchant for unusual vertical sequences and rare choreographies for silks/ rope. She will definitely be sharing these!
--> Chloe Pisco's focuses:
AERIAL COMPONENT MECHANICS - how each part of the whole movement can be re learnt more intelligently and efficiently. (Like a plier for example in the "Ballet Barre"....but for aerial!)
All for vertical aerial equipment: Rope, silks as well as trapeze + Hoop.
Smart neuro-muscular re programming for a reason - a focused physical goal:
- Economy of energy
- Intelligent use of mechanics
- Length of line
- Ease of movement
All ensuring the athlete can last a long career, without ignorantly injuring their shoulder etc...
Allowing for a freer exploration of the expanding range of styles of movement, that one aerialist can have to play with. (Instead of the usual, single "default movement style" we each have.)
And finally creative exploration, processes and tricks to making honest work about the extraordinary ride that is the human experience, and in turn, hopefully, continuing to inspire the compassion revolution!
Chloé Pisco has been both directing and teaching full time for 16 years, as well performing professionally for 23 years, all over the globe. She has been based mainly between Australia and Barcelona for the last 5 years, but never stops moving, (Just recently: 18 countries in just 6 months!)
She was a professional ballet dancer, then obtaining a degree in Dance performance and teaching in NYC, (Alvin Ailey/ Fordham Uni.), she transitioned to contemporary dance , African and break dance. From 2006, she began working as an aerialist as well, performing all over Europe and eventually the World.
Pisco trains trainers, professionals, children and a huge variety of marginalised communities : sharing her techniques, (adapted from the amazing teachers she has been truly privileged to learn from), both physical and creative.
She has developed "Intelligent Component mechanics" as such, a technique wherein aerialists train the component parts of the larger movements more precisely and exactly than previously, so as to create a base of consistent muscle memory and perfect technique, to build on. Much like a ballet barre, but for aerial circus!
Pisco has a hunger and passion for the inner workings, motivations and intentions behind the human physiology in motion and our need to share the human experience and express ourselves through it.
She nourishes this by sourcing local inspiration and masters to learn from, almost everywhere she roams.
She specialises in all static aerial and dance but directs the whole range of circus specialties incl. physical theatre/clown.
As a freelance director she creates dozens of shows per year but her main focus for the foreseeable future is:
"The Oxytocin Show" a look at the neurology and chemistry of empathy and compassion.
A show in the Research stages, that will be adapted from a paper Chloe Pisco wrote - explaining the correlation between our varying propensities for oxytocin production in different environments and the patriarchy, capitalism, empires and much much more.
She is more excited about this than she has ever been about anything.
