Date: Monday, April 3rd
Time: 8:00 - 9:30 PM
Prerequisites: 3 ball cascade
Cues will be given for directing your focus and imagination, to enhance proprioceptive/kinaesthetic awareness (sense of bodily position/movement in space). Calm and quiet, but with plenty of juggling.
This bodily-felt awareness provides the base for a state of juggling which is settled and stable. Gradually the eyes may be freed.
By playing with attention in this way, presence of mind can expand to encompass the broader situation. This creates possibility for movement, responsiveness, interaction.
The aim of the workshop is to instill, though experience, some ways of tapping into a sense of ease and awareness in juggling, to know and explore for yourself.
Developing this awareness in juggling brings mastery, as well as freedom: to dance, make eye contact with spectators, or enjoy the beauty of the sky as you juggle.
3ball cascade + your own motivation.
About the tutor Moxy:
"I love juggling and know it deeply. This workshop represents a synthesis of many influences. The ideas involved are informed by: formal study of the academic literature on the Coordination Dynamics of juggling, insights gleaned from a wide range of masterclasses/workshops I’ve taken in juggling and movement, and my own practice, coloured by a lifelong fascination with phenomenology and psychology."
