Applications are now open for our Summer Residency Programme, Factory Days, to take place during the months of May through to August 2019.
Factory Days aim to support professional circus artist(s) in the development of new work providing rehearsal and performance space for innovative new ideas and creation.
Factory Days is open to all disciplines and welcomes cross discipline art forms that have in their proposal a strong Circus focus.

Factory Days welcomes applicants from individuals or groups at any stage in their professional development. The applicant must however present a focused vision, commitment to the circus arts and in the case of applicants at the early stages of their professional development, clearly demonstrate how the residency will help them progress in their artform.
Successful applicants will be offered
up to 14 days

residential time in Circus Factory training space in Cork

bursary per residency
40 hours

private booking of Circus Factory training space (must be arranged around member training times and weekly programmed activities)

shared access to Circus Factory training space, equipment and rigging
(sufficient skill level needed to incorporate aerial practice)
...as well as venue, administrative and promotional support to showcase final work developments
Deadlines for Application
Deadline 2
Thursday 28th March for Residency to take place in June / July.
Deadline 3
Thursday 25th April to take place in July / August

You will be asked to upload the following documents when you complete the application form.

NB: Prepared documents for upload must be saved in either .PDF, Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Format.

  1. Your Residency Proposal.

This can include images however please keep in mind the max file upload size is 100mb per file.
Explanations that would be helpful for your proposal would be:

  • Why you would like to be considered for this residency?
  • What ideas you intend to explore within this residency?
  • At what development stage are you at with the ideas that you are proposing?
  • What do you hope to get out of the residency?

2. Technical Requirements.

Please detail any technical or rigging requirements that your residency proposal involves. Please state if you will be providing your own equipment or if you require to use Circus Factory equipment and rigging points.

3. CV (s)

Please include CV's from all the main participants in your application.

4. Performance links.

Up to 5 links of your work or previous performances. Please provide a brief context to the link, including date, event etc. Make sure to include any passwords required to access passwrod protected online content.

Assessments and Decisions

Applications will be assessed by Circus Factory and an invited external assessor.
All applicants will be notified of final decisions within 3 weeks of each application deadline.
Applicants may be contacted prior to to final decisions if we feel we require more information.
